Lunch with Mother, because she gets excited over Malaysian food and consequently forgets about the GP’s precautions to stay away from oily foods. It’s been weeks since I’ve snapped away at cafes, so I made the mistake of forgetting to photograph the food again ^^;
Unpictured is the plate of Biryani Rice with Vegetarian Curry Mutton. ‘Mutton’ was on the tough side and rather rubbery. If anything, I was more excited about the thin papadum and side of chilli - sweet, but persevering.
Satay Mixed (3x beef, 3x chicken) More cucumber please. Both meats were prepared in the same way with soy sauce and - hurrah! - lemongrass ^^v I thought they were fine without the rather tasteless satay anyway.
Steamed bread with Butter & Kaya Yeah..one of the slices are half eaten because Mother is impatient. I’m going to call this the Asian version of salted caramel. Warm pillowy bread with a generous layer of butter, topped with an excess amount of kaya equated to giving my half-hearted diet the flick. It smelt wonderfully of pandan and the smooth, contrasting spreads left me mildly yearning for another plate (mildly because I’d like to be able to fit into my new jeans).
Pappa Cham (coffee + milk tea) was insanely sweet, and that’s saying something if Mother thinks so too.
