The Petty Officer
113 Victoria Ave
Albert Park, VIC
Good grub and coffee is always welcome after an all nighter, involving a terrifyingly illogical Japanese horror movie (The Pulse, if you’re interested), excess popcorn and carbonated alcohol and a failed LOTR marathon.
The cafe is very airy and spacious. Tall windows allows for natural light to stream through, painting temporary rainbow patterns across those within its grasp.

Flat white.

Latte. Creamy and fragrant, a second order implies consistency.

Corn, Zucchini & Mint Fritters with Bloody Mary salsa, Celery salt & Creme Fraiche
When this arrived, my immediate thought was ‘KFC’, and oddly enough, that wasn’t because of their similar, deep fried and wrinkled appearance. Whilst they were on the petite side, I thoroughly enjoyed this. The salsa provides a sour buzz.
There aren’t many cafes I’ll go out of my way to eat at, but The Petty Officer is one I’d be happy to revisit.
